Katie began her education and training in the circus performing arts at the age of 3 when she first took classes at CircusWest. In her formative years, she entered the elite National Circus School in Montreal, Canada. Katie then went on to study at the Circomedia Centre in Bristol, UK. It was at the National Circus School and at Circomedia Centre that Katie trained at a professional level alongside future performers for acclaimed acts like Cirque du Soleil.
In 1998, Katie began performing with CircusWest, becoming an original member of Avatar Circus, where she remained for 11 years, finally ending her tenure in 2008.
After her time with the Avatar Circus, Katie pursued her own dream project and founded the Random Acts of Circus. The company became one of the few circus performing acts in Vancouver and had its own production run at Vancouver’s famous Granville Island.
Katie currently works with select clients as a certified ACSM personal trainer and CPFA aerial instructor. She also has her OFA first aid certification to ensure her safety and safety of her clients for all her training sessions. As an instructor, Katie also teaches Aerials, Acrobatics, and Dance for several schools across the Lower Mainland.
